The debate over football’s GOAT (greatest of all-time) usually leads to a flurry of debates, one of them being the tiresome Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi argument.

It’s only tiresome because it has been discussed for years as an obsession for many. The Ronaldo vs Messi debate has also thrown up some of the worst X (Twitter) opinions I have stumbled across.

Two of them are out of this world and I’m just happy to have got the chance to watch both players throughout their careers. Especially Ronaldo, who I watched become the best player in the world for Manchester United. There’s obviously a bit of bias that comes with that but nobody cares about what I think when he comes to Ronaldo vs Messi.

Neither play their football in Europe anymore. Ronaldo is breezing through teams in the Saudi Pro League and Messi has become the face of not just Inter Miami but Mayor League Soccer.

However, Laura Woods is different. She’s one of the best pundits in the game  and she is taking her TNT Sports gig by storm this season.

Woods has revealed that she would pick Messi over Ronaldo during a quick-fire ‘Champions League legends’ Q&A via Goal’s TikTok.
