Confidence remains high at Valencia CF, despite the first two defeats of the season. Toni Lato talks to VCF Media about this and more, ahead of the game against Athletic Club on Saturday.

Reflecting on the loss to Sevilla

We know what we did badly, against quality opposition. Nowadays, you can't make those mistakes in professional football. We're focused on Saturday, and what will be an important game.

We have to look at what we didn't do well, and what we did well. We have to correct what we haven't done well, aware that we have to play as a team from the first minute to the 90th. Games last for 90-95 minutes, and we have to have a very complete game so that we win the three points on Saturday.

The mentality after two defeats

The confidence in the team amongst the players, the coaching staff and the medical team is 100%.

We're going to go out there aware that the three points have to be ours, and with a lot of desire to achieve that.

The nice thing is that every 48 hours you have another opportunity. We have to go out there from the opening minute to win.

Athletic Club's form

We know that they are tough, physical opponents. They lost against Rayo Vallecano, but they are in good form. We know that every game is difficult. It's a week with three games. We need to rest up now and be in the best shape for Saturday, in order to compete.

His return to the starting XI

We have to be prepared for every situation at any moment. That's football. I had an opportunity, and I'm trying to make the most of it and help the team however I can.

I know that it's a demanding week, with three games in 6 days. I haven't played in a while, but it's all about training and preparing as well as possible so that I can compete and help the team.

The fans at Mestalla

When the fans are behind us, it's a privilege to play at Mestalla. We definitely need everybody. I think that, all together, we will take the three points on Saturday.

At Mestalla the fans will be supporting us 100%. We need them, and it's going to be a nice, competitive game.
