Tomorrow is a big day, and today we’d imagine Mauricio Pochettino is going to spend a lot of today thinking about what team to pick.

The Chelsea coach has suddenly got a few decisions to make. The latest report from the Evening Standard says two of his regulars are going to be back fit after a couple of games off.

Axel Disasi “is in line for a start” against Man City tomorrow, writes Nizaar Kinsella. Meanwhile Raheem Sterling is also training again after a bout of food poisoning. Kinsella speculates he “may be on the bench,” but with Noni Madueke in the dog house and Mykhailo Mudryk anonymous in his last couple of showings, Sterling must have a chance.

A real thinker for Pochettino

Who’s be a manager? You spend all season waiting to have players fit, then when you do, you suddenly have hard decisions to make.

It’s hard to predict Pochettino’s decision without knowing more detail about Sterling’s fitness – did the missed training and weight loss hit him hard? Or is he coming back pretty fresh from a spell a game? If he’s sharp, we think the coach picks him against his old team. His experience and his speed on the counter could be vital.

It’s an even harder call when it comes to Disasi. He’s been an ever present this season, but Trevoh Chalobah is in great form, and Thiago Silva kept a clean sheet playing with him on Monday. Do you really dare drop the veteran in a game which we might be sitting very deep in? For Disasi?

Colwill is a real asset to have back fit overall, but it feels like he’s been out too long to be thrown back into the action from the start. He has an important role to play in the rest of the season overall, however.
