Liam Delap could miss more than eight weeks through injury

Chelsea acted fast and ordered Nicolas Jackson to return to London, despite the striker being in Munich to finalise a proposed loan move.

Jackson is understood to be unhappy at the situation and is still in Munich with his agent to try and resurrect the move, although the only chance of that happening is through a permanent transfer.

However, there could be more bad news coming Chelsea’s way in regards to Delap, with The Telegraph reporting there are fears the England under-21 international could miss more than six to eight weeks.

The report states Delap requires another scan in the next 48 hours which may rule him out for even longer than first thought.

Delap arrived from Ipswich earlier in the summer for £30m, and has started two of Chelsea’s first three Premier League games, but is still waiting for his first Premier League goal.

Chelsea make enquiries for Conrad Harder

The Blues are exploring alternative options if Bayern Munich decide to make Jackson’s move permanent, and they are understood to have made enquires for Sporting Lisbon’s Conrad Harder.

Chelsea have been linked with Harder previously, although it’s understood the 20-year-old is close to joining RB Leipzig.

Harder played back-up to Viktor Gyokeres last season, and managed five goals and five assists in 28 league appearances last season.

How much a potential move would cost is unclear, but it could be one to keep an eye on in the final hours of the window.
