Whether it is chasing automatic promotion, battling for a place in the play-offs or looking to stave off relegation, almost every side in the division will have remaining itches that they wish to scratch before the deadline.

Clubs may be hesitant to allow players to leave to divisional rivals due to fear of an outgoing deal negatively impacting their league position further down the line.

Here, we have taken a look at the latest League One transfer news…

Tom Hopper in talks to leave Lincoln City

We brought you the exclusive this morning that Colchester United are in talks to sign Tom Hopper from the Imps, as they aim to pull clear of the League Two relegation battle.

The 29-year-old, who regularly captained the club at the beginning of the season, has scored two goals in 16 league outings and would be an eye-catching addition for a fourth tier club.

Hopper has been a reliable contributor in the third tier for around eight years, and would follow Matt Jay and Connor Hall in making the move from the third tier to the U’s this month.

Milton Keynes Dons eyeing move for Sullay Kaikai

The Dons are in talks to bolster their forward line with the services of Kaikai from Wycombe Wanderers, according to Alex Howell.

The 27-year-old’s deal at Adams Park expires in the summer, and he has only made one league start under Gareth Ainsworth this season.

Kaikai has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter with the Chairboys, since leaving Blackpool in the summer of 2021, but Mark Jackson may see qualities that could have a positive impact in the Dons’ relegation battle.

A small fee may be required to lure him away from Adams Park, but Wycombe will probably be keen to get him off the wage bill with seven days remaining to re-allocate his wages.

Charlie Savage to Forest Green Rovers edges closer

The Green have agreed a deal to sign Savage on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season, and the 19-year-old midfielder has undergone a medical today as per Football Insider.

Savage would become the club’s first addition since parting company with Ian Burchnall as head coach, a decision that the Red Devils would have likely known about before agreeing a deal for the Green to take Savage on loan.

Squad depth is not an issue for the Green, despite their struggles at the foot of the table, and, with that in mind, it will be interesting to monitor if Savage does become first choice quickly under a new head coach, with United possibly asking for assurances with regards to the game-time that he will receive.
