\Eddie Howe’s comments regarding the future of Dominic Solanke could have a major impact on the situation surrounding Kieffer Moore.

The Welsh international has been the subject of transfer speculation this month amid a lack of playing time with Bournemouth.

The forward has made just seven league appearances for the Cherries so far this season, all of which came as a substitute.

Moore has been linked with the likes of Ipswich Town and Leeds United, with both teams eyeing improvements to their attacking options for their promotion fight in the second half of the campaign.

Sunderland have also been credited with an interest in the 31-year-old as they also look to earn a top six finish in the Championship. As have the likes of Cardiff City, one of Moore's former clubs.

Newcastle United have been linked with a potential move for Solanke, which could derail any plans for second tier sides looking to sign Moore.

However, the Magpies’ boss has played down the club’s chances of signing the forward, which should be a positive development for those interested in Bournemouth’s second-choice striker.

"I love Solanke," said Howe, via Craig Hope.

"I signed him for Bournemouth & rate him very highly.

"But we have not made an enquiry for him, and we don’t have the ability to sign a player of that level."

The likelihood of Bournemouth selling both Solanke and Moore in the same window was unlikely, so this should open the door for clubs looking to sign the Wales international.

Moore has struggled for game time due to Solanke’s positive performances, but if he were to depart, then that would leave the Cherries with very few attacking options.

This would mean Moore would be unlikely to also depart, as there are very few alternatives in Andoni Iraoloa’s side.

It remains to be seen whether the Premier League side will sell Moore regardless, but this does boost clubs’ chances of signing the experienced forward.

Ipswich Town league position

Ipswich currently occupy an automatic promotion spot in the Championship, leading third place Southampton by three points.

The gap to Leeds is a further four points, with the Whites sitting fourth in the standings as they target an immediate top flight return after suffering relegation last season.

Meanwhile, eight points separate Sunderland from the Yorkshire outfit, with Michael Beale’s side only inside the play-off places by one point.

All three clubs return to league action this weekend, with the Black Cats even visiting Portman Road on Saturday evening.

This development opens the door for Moore exit

It is likely Bournemouth will only sanction the sale of Moore this January if they can sign a replacement.

However, this development does open the door for his exit as it should be easier to find a replacement for the Welshman rather than him and Solanke.

Moore would be a solid addition at any Championship side chasing promotion, given he has experience of earning a top two spot in the division from his time with Bournemouth.

He is also a proven goalscorer at this level, which means he could be a real difference-maker in the fight for a place back in the top flight.
