As revealed by Lancs Live, Cameron Archer remains Preston North End’s number one target ahead of January.

The forward spent the second-half of the previous campaign on loan at Deepdale and managed to produce a number of impressive performances for the club as he scored seven goals in the Championship.

If Villa are willing to sanction a loan move for Archer, Preston will need to fend off competition from Middlesbrough in order to secure his services.

A report from TEAMtalk earlier this month suggested that Boro are also interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Semenyo was linked with the Turkish outfit earlier this month but they have yet to step up their pursuit.

With the Ghana international also believed to be attracting interest from Rangers and AFC Bournemouth ahead of the upcoming window, the Robins may have a battle on their hands to retain his services.

In the 18 appearances that he has made for the club in the Championship this season, Semenyo has provided four direct goal contributions.

Update emerges regarding the situation of West Brom, Huddersfield and Birmingham target

A Patreon report from Alan Nixon on Monday suggested that West Brom, Huddersfield Town and Birmingham City are all tracking Portsmouth midfielder Jay Mingi.

In a fresh update regarding Mingi’s situation, Portsmouth Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cullen has revealed in an interview with The News that the club are currently having discussions with the 22-year-old over a new contract.

Mingi’s current deal is set to expire next summer and thus he will become a free-agent if fresh terms cannot be agreed.

Whereas West Brom, Huddersfield and Birmingham could wait until the end of the season to seal a deal for the 22-year-old, a bidding war may commence in January if one of these teams decides to step up their pursuit.
