Eintracht have 15 outfield players at their disposal for the final week of training before the friendly at Atalanta, while Marcel Wenig has begun his rehabilitation.

The week of preparation for the final match of 2022 is in full swing. After the double shift on Monday, Tuesday’s session was a half-time interval of sorts. The Saint Nicholas Day session in the morning was the third of five leading up to the friendly against Atalanta B.C. on Friday (kick-off 20:00 CET).

The Eagles did not let the sometimes slippery ground slow them down and eagerly honed their passing and movement. Without seven internationals, Ansgar Knauff and Sebastian Rode, who are training individually, as well as Marcel Wenig, who began his rehabilitation from a metatarsal fracture on Monday, the coaching team reduced the size of the pitch at Deutsche Bank Park. Pressure resistance in tight spaces was therefore required as usual.

Chance for youngsters

Oliver Glasner included several youngsters in the squad for the 5-1 friendly win against SV Sandhausen last week. The picture for the trip to Bergamo depends on which players are involved in the U21 team’s final match of the year.

From Saturday, the players enjoy three weeks off for Christmas. The first day of training in the New Year will be on Tuesday 3 January, with one session each in the morning and afternoon.
