Manchester City will welcome Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look to pick up a win and secure the Premier League title. The Mancunian giants managed to pick up a 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, so they will be full of confidence ahead of this Premier League clash at home.

Pep Guardiola will probably set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make one tweak to his starting XI for this game. Aymeric Laporte could get a start in central defence at the expense of John Stones, who is suspended this weekend. However, Nathan Ake should be fit to make the bench.

Defence

Ederson will feature in goal for Man City after he earned a clean sheet against PSG earlier this week. Aymeric Laporte will partner up with Ruben Dias at the heart of Guardiola’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back and keep the Blues attackers at bay this weekend.

Kyle Walker will operate at right-back while Oleksandr Zinchenko fills in on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the attacking end of the pitch.

Joao Cancelo and Nathan Ake will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

The Man City midfield will be comprised of Ilkay Gundogan, Fernandinho and Bernardo Silva as the talented trio focus on establishing their superiority over the Blues at the centre of the park. All three players will have to move the ball quickly so that they can find some holes in the Chelsea backline on Saturday afternoon.

Rodri will have to be content with a spot on the bench but could come on to protect the backline in the second half if required.

Attack

Phil Foden will function as the left-sided winger while Riyad Mahrez looks to put on another productive performance on the right flank. Kevin De Bruyne will once again play as a makeshift centre-forward.

Mahrez scored a brace in midweek, so we can expect the Algerian international to carry most of the goal-scoring workload down the middle. Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to feature in the latter stages if needed.
