Chelsea suffered defeat in Japan when they took on Kawasaki Frontale on Friday.
Frank Lampard had his team start in a 4-3-3 formation as they kicked off their Japanese tour with a game against Kawasaki Frontale on Friday.
The Premier League side dominated possession but struggled to create chances early on.
Pedro and Mason Mount went closest but Chelsea rarely threatened to break the deadlock before a sloppy end to the first half saw the opening 45 minutes end goalless.
Things didn’t improve after the break, either.
Kenedy went close a couple of times and Christian Pulisic was introduced for his Chelsea debut before the hosts took the lead.
Brazilian striker Leandro DamiĂŁo converted from a corner with just two minutes remaining.
Chelsea were left with no time to respond and Damião’s goal handed Frank Lampard his first defeat as the Blues’ boss.
