After an eventful weekend, here are our standout LaLiga performers.

GK: Rubén Blanco (Celta Vigo)

Blanco’s fine performance saw Celta see out a 1-0 win and end a five-game losing streak.

DF: Rubén Peña (Eibar)

You don’t see many more rounded performances than this.

As well as delivering in defence, Peña broke the deadlock at the other end.

DF: Mandi (Betis)

The Algerian was integral in Betis’ surprise defeat of Atlético Madrid.

Mandi read the game superbly, was dominant in the air and brilliant in possession as Betis looked to play with the ball.

DF: Reguilón (Real Madrid)

One excellent assist capped off an otherwise solid display.

MF: Roberto Rosales (Espanyol)

Earns his place for this fantastic goal alone.

MF: Moi Gómez (Huesca)

One goal, one assist, and a completely impressive defensive work in Huesca’s 4-0 win on Friday evening.

MF: Dani Parejo (Valencia)

The Valencia resurgence is being led by their captain, who signed a new contract on Monday.

He gave an inspiring performance at Camp Nou.

MF: Vinícius Jr. (Real Madrid)

The heir to Cristiano Ronaldo? Well, maybe not.

But it isn’t impossible. The Brazilian grows with each week and thoroughly deserved his second LaLiga goal of the season.

FW: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)

What more is there left to say?

Two beautiful goals to drag Barcelona to a comeback. This season more than ever, Messi picks up the pace even when his team-mates don’t.

FW: Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Back to his best lately, Benzema was terrific on Sunday.

To think people were worried about Ronaldo leaving.

FW: Willian José (Real Sociedad)

Scored an absolute screamer as Real beat Athletic Club in the Basque derby.
