Barcelona v Villarreal

Scorers: Pedraza 41â€Č, Gomez 55â€Č

Barcelona’s LaLiga campaign came to a disappointing end as they lost 2-0 at home to Villarreal.

Barcelona has already confirmed their second place so Xavi rung the changes with Adama Traore playing what was likely to be his final game for the club.

The first half was all Barça as the Catalan club pushed for the opening goal but struggled to convert their possession into chances.

And they would pay for that profligacy right before half time as Alfonso Pedraza fired in to give Unai Emery’s side the lead.

After the break the Yellow Submarine doubled their lead on 55 minutes as Moi Gomez capitalised on a mistake by Adama and finished well.

Barça thought they had pulled one back late on but Frenkie de Jong’s close range effort was ruled out for offside.

Real Sociedad v Atlético Madrid

Scorers: Guridi 90+3;’ De Paul 50â€Č, Correa 68â€Č

Atlético Madrid ended their LaLiga season on a high as they beat Real Sociedad 2-1.

Atlético Madrid travelled to Real Sociedad with Champions League qualification already in the bag for next season.

But it was the home side who went closest to scoring in the first half as Alexander Sorloth struck the post from inside the area.

After the break it was Atleti’s turn to hit the woodwork as Matheus Cunha’s half volley crashed off the crossbar.

They eventually did get their goal though as Rodrigo De Paul fired in a spectacular effort before Angel Correa doubled their lead on 68 minutes.

Real Sociedad pulled one back in injury time but it was too little too late as Diego Simeone’s side claimed the three points.

Alavés v Cådiz

In the earlier day Granada were relegated to the Segunda after Cådiz beat Alavés 1-0.
