Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “It lived up to its billing: a Europa League quarter-final at Tottenham. We knew the enormous force we were coming up against but we handled it pretty well, particularly at the beginning, and had a good start with the goal from Heki. After that we became a bit passive, which was maybe down to the lead. We’ve laid a good foundation for the return leg at home with our fantastic fans in our stadium.”

Kaua Santos: “It was a very difficult match. We knew what kind of match it would be, but you have to be prepared for every instance. I think I did well. I always try to enjoy the match. Unfortunately we didn’t win, but it was a very important result. Now we have the opportunity to settle the tie at home.”

Arthur Theate: “We came up against strong and forceful opponents, who pressed high. The early goal was good for us but obviously a match isn’t won by that. Tottenham then attacked with even more energy. Spurs were clever, they wanted to lure us onto one side and then switch. We got a grip of that. They had their chances, which with Kaua’s help didn’t go in. On the whole, though, it wasn’t a match with a great deal of clear chances. We’ll need that intensity again next week.”
