Major League Soccer side LAFC take on Liga MX outfit Club Tijuana in Leagues Cup Group Stage action.
LAFC's last three matches have been a little bit all over the place after a heavy 5-1 defeat to current MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew, a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake followed by a 3-0 triumph over Seattle Sounders. The Black and Gold managed to reach the Quarter-Finals of Leagues Cup 2023 before falling short to Mexican giants CF Monterrey.
Like LAFC, Tijuana's last three matches includes one draw, one loss and one win. Los Xolos picked up a 4-2 victory over Chivas before falling 3-0 to Cruz Azul and settling for a 1-1 draw with Atletico San Luis. Tijuana didn't get far in last summer's tournament, accumulating zero points from their Group-Stage matches vs fellow Liga MX side Queretaro and MLS outfit Philadelphia Union.

Winger Cristian Olivera -- who just returned from Copa America with Uruguay and scored in the draw against RSL -- is set to be out of action until mid-August with a foot injury. Midfielder Timothy Tillman's leg injury has him sidelined until mid-August, while defender Lorenzo Dellavalle remains out of the mix until early next month with a knee problem.
LAFC predicted lineup vs Club Tijuana ( 3-5-2 ): Lloris; Murillo, Chanot, Long; Palencia, Bogusz, Sanchez, Atuesta, Hollingshead; Kamara, Bouanga.
Carlos Valenzuela is the only Tijuana player unavailable for selection, as the 27-year-old is recovering from a knee injury and is on track to return to action in late August.
Club Tijuana predicted lineup vs LAFC ( 4-1-4-1 ): Rodriguez; Fernandez, Balanta, Bilbao, Contereras; Corona; Alvarez, Reynoso, Madrigal, Alvarez; Casteneda.
All signs are pointing to LAFC picking up three points to begin their Leagues Cup campaign. While Tijuana shouldn't be overlooked as they do have players like ex-Minnesota United midfielder Emanuel Reynoso in the side, LAFC are too much for them to handle with the likes of Denis Bouanga and Mateusz Bogusz.
Prediction: LAFC 2-0 Club Tijuana
