LAFC are all set to take on MLS Eastern Conference outfit Atlanta United this weekend at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Black and Gold are fresh off a 3-0 triumph over Loudoun United FC in the US Open Cup Round of 16. Steve Cherundolo's squad have rebounded after their poor start to the campaign to find themselves in fifth place in the Western Conference table with 21 points after 13 matches.

Cherundolo is a coach that's known to not stray too far from his preferred setup and first-choice players, no matter the opponent. That theme will likely continue Saturday night with the former USMNT player looking to rely on his 4-3-3 system while being forced into a change in defense due to an injury.

Here's how the Black and Gold could take the pitch vs Atlanta.

GK: Hugo Lloris - The former France international will be looking to keep his fifth clean sheet of the campaign against an Atlanta side that's simply struggled in front of goal in recent matches.

RB: Sergi Palencia - Palencia slots in at right-back for Ryan Holllingshead, who's currently recovering from a neck injury.

CB: Jesus Murillo - He remains one of the more underrated center-backs in all of Major League Soccer.

CB: Aaron Long - The 31-year-old gets the starting nod in the heart of defense alongside Murillo.

LB: Omar Campos - He'll have his sights set on repeating some of his previous solid performances to remain in-form.

CM: Timothy Tillman - Tillman might have to tread lightly since he's accumulated four yellow cards in MLS action and is just on card away from a one-game suspension.

CM: Ilie Sanchez - The veteran midfielder captains the Black and Gold and features from the jump after coming off the bench in their most recent league campaign vs St Louis CITY.

CM: Eduard Atuesta - Atuesta aims to pull the strings from the midfield and add to his three goal involvements this season.

RW: Cristian Olivera - Olivera's five goals in his last four matches in all competitions sees him keep his place in the XI.

ST: Matuesz Bogusz - Cherundolo's utility player starts up front and center, looking to linkup with Bouanga and Olivera.

LW: Denis Bouanga - The reigning Golden Boot winner will no doubt be hungry to add to his eight goals scored in the 2024 MLS season.
