Inter are not likely to sack Simone Inzaghi in the middle of the current season, with a lack of viable replacements being one of the main reasons.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who also note that Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has sacked a coach in mid-season only once, and generally seems to prefer the stability that comes with trusting a coach at least until a season ends.

Inzaghi’s future has become a topic of some speculation in recent days, with the mounting bad form as the Nerazzurri have now lost two in a row, and four from eight in total in Serie A, meaning that his days could be numbered.

However, CEO Marotta has reportedly reiterated that he still backs the coach, and has no plans to sack him imminently.

While patience with Inzaghi could theoretically run out, for the moment Marotta’s preference is clearly to stand by him.

Moreover, while Dejan Stankovic has been linked in the media as a replacement, and former Fiorentina coach Paulo Sousa has also reportedly been offered, no one who is thought of as being at the same level as the current coach is both on the market and attainable.
