Alexandrea Lacazette scored a last gasp equaliser to save a point for Arsenal on Patrick Vieira’s return to the club.
Scorers: Aubameyang 8′, Lacazette 90+5; Benteke 50′, Édouard 73′
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the hosts the perfect start when he found the net on the rebound from close range.
But Arsenal were left incensed before half-time when James McArthur somehow escaped a red card for a kick to the calf of Bukayo Saka.
Five minutes after the break, Palace equalised when Jordan Ayew brilliantly won possession back from Thomas Partey in midfield before setting Christian Benteke up to score.
Vieira’s men then completed the turnaround with another break away after winning the ball in their own half this time, tearing up field where Odsonne Édouard lashed a superb finish in off the bar.
But they were denied their win when Lacazette popped up deep into injury time to salvage a point that his side scarcely deserved on their second half showing to move Arsenal up to 12th.
