Paris Saint-Germain orchestrated a remarkable turnaround, clinching a thrilling 4-1 (6-4 on aggregate) second-leg victory over FC Barcelona at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Tuesday night. Now, one pundit is adding a French twist to the popular remontada name.

Despite initially trailing 1-0, the Parisian side found renewed momentum after Ronald Araújo’s expulsion following a challenge on Bradley Barcola.

Capitalizing on Barcelona’s numerical disadvantage, PSG seized control of the game. Under Luis Enrique’s guidance, the team struck four unanswered goals, with Ousmane Dembélé inflicting damage against his former club with a crucial goal just before halftime.

Vitinha’s goal in the 54th minute leveled the aggregate score at 4-4, propelling the Ligue 1 outfit into a 2-1 lead in the match. Kylian Mbappé further cemented PSG’s dominance, converting a penalty in the 61st minute and securing an insurance goal in the 89th minute, sealing the 6-4 aggregate win.

Former French footballer David Ginola decided to poke fun at Barcelona’s misery. After years of hearing about the Catalan side’s remontada, Ginola wanted to put a title on the turnaround that the Ligue 1 side accomplished on Tuesday.

“Yes, there was a strong sense of calm,” Ginola said on Canal Champions Club (h/t Canal Supporters). “They really stepped up after conceding the first goal. It was evident that they were not just a team but a cohesive group. Kudos to them; they deserve a round of applause. Despite facing criticism, especially from the Paris team and Luis Enrique, they showed that actions speak louder than words in football.

“It’s time to perhaps tweak the term ‘La Remontada‘—a Spanish phrase—to ‘La Remontée‘ this time around. As French, let’s move away from foreign stereotypes and take pride in what we have. And what we have is a fantastic team in Paris, capable of clinching the Champions League title. Hats off to them for this incredible comeback!”

PSG are now off to the Champions League semifinal, where they’ll face Borussia Dortmund, whom they’ve already encountered in the group stage this season.
