Barcelona’s production line is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
Fresh from Lamine Yamal’s match-winning strike against Mallorca, La Masia was in the headlines again.
Yamal and Pau Cubarsí have both been earning rave reviews after their displays for the fallen Spanish champions over recent weeks.
And the pair further announced themselves on the biggest stage as the Blaugrana faced Napoli in Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 tie.
Both Cubarsí and Yamal helped Barça set a new record in starting two players aged 17 or under in a European knockout stage game.
Within 17 minutes, they were part of a potentially landmark victory as Fermín López and João Cancelo produced a quick-fire double.
Amir Rrahmani struck back later in the first half to reduce the deficit to a 3-2 aggregate at Montjuïc’s Olympic Stadium.
But Xavi’s young guns held on as Robert Lewandowski added a third late on to seal their passage into the quarter finals.
