It has been a wonderful past few days of sorts for FC Barcelona following the recent turn of events. For La Blaugrana, both on and off the pitch, excellence has followed at a rather alarming rate so far. Both at the Ballon d’Or ceremony and on the pitch, Barcelona have looked flawless.

During the event in question, most of the awards were swooped up by Barça’s women’s team while the Kopa Trophy was won by 17-year-old Lamine Yamal. However, even after that historic win for the young Barcelona prodigy, the awards keep on coming towards other players of the club.

The most recent award, as highlighted by SPORT, has now been seized by none other than Pedri. He has recently been named the Best Under-23 player in La Liga for the month of October, an award that highlights the great work that he has been doing so far and gives him the deserved recognition for it.

Over the course of October, the 21-year-old Spanish midfielder played all three games that Barcelona took part in. He started all of those matches and essentially played almost all of the minutes that were possible to be played. In each of those performances, he showcased nothing but sheer class.

First came the 3-0 victory over Alaves, a smooth operation for Pedri, and that was followed by a 5-1 thrashing of Sevilla at the Montjuic Stadium, a game in which the young Barcelona gem also scored a beautiful goal. Then most recently, he also took part in El Clasico and completely dismantled Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu in a 4-0 victory.

Alongside Marc Casado, this new dynamic midfield duo that Pedri has formed with him looks immense. They have shown against top opponents, such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, that they are able to stay toe-to-toe with any side in world football and that is reassuring.

Similarly, even Robert Lewandowski is expected to win a certain La Liga award soon. Seen as the heavy favorite to be crowned the best La Liga player of October, this month continues to end on a high note following a flawless set of matches both in La Liga and in the UEFA Champions League.
