Two headline members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona are set to earn more in wages than incoming Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappé over the season ahead.

That’s according to ESPN, who point towards Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski as the pair in question.

In the case of the former, midfielder De Jong’s wages are set to be nothing short of exorbitant in 2024/25.

With the Dutchman still owed significant repayments after agreeing to defer his wages during the pandemic, he is in line for a staggering €37.5 million payout over the coming campaign.

Frontman Lewandowski, meanwhile, is continuing to benefit from a rising salary scale, which saw the Barcelona brass agree to pay the Pole more and more as the years of his contract pass.

This comes despite the fact that the former Bayern Munich man is set to turn 36 next month.

Lewa’s wage packet for 2024/25, it is understood, will be in excess of €33 million.

This means that the Barcelona pair, both of whom have been tipped for transfers this summer, will out-earn the headline arrival in La Liga for next season.

As per ESPN, new Real Madrid Galáctico Kylian Mbappé will be the highest-paid player in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, ahead of the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinícius Jr.

But the Frenchman’s wages will still come in shy of those of both De Jong and Lewandowski, at around €31 million.
