Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid were among the winning sides on Matchday 22 of La Liga. Here is the summary of the results.

Osasuna 2-0 Real Madrid: Federico Valverde and Marco Asensio fire Los Blancos to a crucial away win

Real Madrid picked up their fourth consecutive win in all competitions after defeating Osasuna 2-0.

The game looked evenly poised for larger periods as both teams had their fair share of chances.

It took until the 78th minute for Madrid to draw first blood, with Federico Valverde finding the net before Marco Asensio put the game to bed in injury time.

Vinicius Junior caused all sorts of trouble to the Osasuna defence with his impressive burst of pace and dribbling skills.

Although he had a couple of goals ruled out for offside, the Brazilian winger provided the assist for Valverde’s opening goal.

The victory had no impact on the standings as Los Blancos are trailing leaders Barcelona by eight points.

Barcelona 2-0 Cadiz: Lewandowski and Sergi Roberto on the scoresheet as Xavi’s men maintain the lead at the top

Following Los Blancos’ victory over Osasuna, the pressure was on Barca not to lose control in the title race.

The Catalan giants must have been rusty following their draw against Manchester United in the Europa League midweek, but they still managed to beat Cadiz 2-0.

Sergi Roberto broke the deadlock before Robert Lewandowski doubled the lead to take his goal tally to 15 in La Liga this season (24 in all competitions).

Xavi’s men lost their control in the second half, with Cadiz hitting the woodwork on a couple of occasions.

Fortunately, the visitors failed to make a difference as Barca retained their eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Athletic Bilbao: Griezmann’s strike sinks Ernesto Valverde’s side

Atletico Madrid edged out Athletic Bilbao 1-0 at Wanda Metropolitano to ensure important three points, with Antoine Griezmann’s strike making the difference.

It looked like anyone’s game until the French talisman scored a brilliant goal past Unai Simon in the 73rd minute to put a dagger through the heart of Athletic Club.

The victory allowed Los Rojiblancos to stay well inside the Champions League places and reduce the gap with third-placed Real Sociedad.
