The registration of Dani Olmo has been a major topic of conflict between FC Barcelona and La Liga.
Having initially registered the summer signing only for the first half of the season, the Blaugrana had to re-register him again in January.
In order to do so, the Catalans needed to generate some revenue and create the Fair Play margin, which they did by striking a deal for the sale of VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou.
However, La Liga refused to re-register the playmaker as they insisted that the Blaugrana did not submit all the necessary documents within the stipulated deadline, while the club maintain that they did.
With the RFEF also siding with La Liga and refusing to reissue his license, Barcelona turned to the Higher Sports Council (CSD), who granted a precautionary measure to allow Olmo to continue playing as normal, at least until they deliver a verdict on the matter on April 7.
However, La Liga president Javier Tebas has been constantly voicing his displeasure at the situation, maintaining that Olmo’s re-registration for the second half of the season should not have been allowed.

Reiterating the stance at a media appearance earlier today, Tebas once again stated that Olmo should not be allowed to finish the season with Barcelona.
“We still believe he should not play, he should not finish the season,” said the La Liga chief, as quoted by COPE.
Tebas’ comments come after the president of the CSD, Jose Manuel Uribes, stated that they granted the precautionary measure in Barcelona’s favour so as to not harm the player’s career.
“I decided we had to grant the precautionary measure because Barcelona believe that RFEF and La Liga didn’t make the right decision, and we applied the principle that it’s better to avoid harm,” Uribes stated.
“It made more sense for him to be able to play. The alternative was for him to remain in a state of uncertainty while the conflict was being resolved, and he is a player for the Spanish national team,” the CSD president added.
With the final verdict on the registration issue expected on April 7, Barcelona are confident that Olmo, as well as Pau Victor, will be allowed to finish the season without any problems.
In case things do not go their way, the Blaugrana will consider taking the matter to the ordinary courts.
