The La Liga season is back in full swing as champions Real Madrid look to begin their defence of their crown with an away trip to Real Sociedad in a meeting on Sunday afternoon.

The campaign got back underway last weekend, however some clubs were given the opportunity for a longer period of rest and will be looking to make a fast start, just like bettors would at the best online casino available to them.

There are a total of seven matches to take place over this coming weekend, with some sides set to play their second match of the campaign, which could provide plenty of mouth-watering action for fans of La Liga. Here is just a look at some of the bigger meetings…

Getafe vs Osasuna (Friday, 18th)

Getafe will kick off their season with a home tie against an Osasuna side who have already managed to pick up a win – having defeated Cadiz in their opener. Getafe will want to start quickly, as they will want to try and carry on from their rather successful appearance in last season’s UEFA Europa League; a competition in which they managed to reach the Round of 16. Indeed, they came incredibly close to qualifying for the Champions League last season with their fourth-placed finish and they will want to try and achieve that goal this year.

Villarreal vs Eibar (Saturday, 19th)

Villarreal and Eibar will both square off against each other on Saturday with both sides looking to claim their first three points of the season. Villarreal managed to scrape a draw against Huesca, whereas Eibar played out a goalless draw against Celta de Vigo. The visitors will be without midfielder Papakouli Diop, as he was shown a red card in their previous fixture just minutes before the final whistle.

Celta de Vigo vs Valencia (Saturday, 19th)

Celta de Vigo could not score against Eibar, whilst Valencia managed to run riot in their game against Levante, recording a 4-2 victory. Maxi Gomez scored in that game, and it would not be a surprise if he were to bag against his former club in this meeting, either.

Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid (Sunday, 20th)

Perhaps the best fixture that La Liga has to offer over this match-weekend, Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid has plenty to offer fans. As mentioned, Los Blancos will want to get their campaign off to a quick-start, whilst Sociedad could see David Silva finally make his debut after completing his free move from Manchester City.

Real Sociedad were held to a 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid after their pre-season preparations were impacted by the current ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
