Real Betis have reportedly inquired about Inter Milan striker Joaquin Correa who has just returned from a disappointing loan stint at Olympique Marseille.

The 29-year-old followed Simone Inzaghi from Lazio to Inter in the summer of 2021 for circa 34 million euros. However, the Argentine couldn’t replicate the success he enjoyed in the Italian capital during his time at San Siro.

After two underwhelming campaigns, the Nerazzurri sent him to Marseille on loan last summer. However, he failed to produce a single goal or assist in all competitions, so the French side naturally opted against signing him permanently.

Therefore, Correa will rejoin Inzaghi’s ranks this summer. Nevertheless, the management will be desperate to find him a new club, especially with his contract expiring next summer.

According to FcInterNews, the Argentina international has attracted the attention of Real Betis.

The Andalusians had attempted to sign him in the past. Ths, they have now rekindled their interest in the player who previously represented their local rivals Sevilla between 2016 and 2018.

Real Betis Asks Agent About Inter Milan Striker Joaquin Correa

As the source explains, Correa’s name came up during negotiations between his agent Alessandro Lucci and the La Liga side.

The two parties were discussing the possible transfer of Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso.

Betis reportedly inquired about the Argentine striker, but it remains to be seen if they would follow it up with a concrete attempt to sign him.

For his part, Correa would relish the opportunity to return to Seville and play his football in Spain once more.

The former Sampdoria and Lazio man would welcome a move to another Serie A club.
