La Liga giants Barcelona are set to bid farewell to another member of the club’s youth setup at the end of the month.

That’s according to Jijantes, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

The subject of impending outgoings has of course taken is place centre stage in the headlines at Barcelona across the day to date.

As much comes after the fears of the Barca brass were confirmed, by way of widespread confirmation that frontman Marc Guiu has come to the decision to make the move to England, with Chelsea.

Guiu, though, is not the only member of the Blaugrana’s academy ranks in line for an imminent exit.

So too, it is understood, is Pelayo Fernández.

Pelayo, for his part, is a 21-year-old defender, who generally operates on the left side of a back-four.

The stopper has been on the books at Barcelona since back in 2019, and played a central role for Rafa Márquez’s Barca Atlètic this past season.

As per the aforementioned Jijantes, however, Pelayo’s stint in Catalunya is set to come to an end upon the close of the month.

The board at the Camp Nou had the option of extending his terms for another two years, but recently opted against as much.

The Spaniard, as a result, has already begun seeking out a new club, amid interest in his services on the part of several La Liga 2 sides, as well as an unnamed one in the top-flight.
