LA Galaxy Have Signed Free Agent Defender John Nelson

The Los Angeles Galaxy have signed free agent left-back John Nelson ahead of the 2024 season. The 25 year old defender fourth MLS club of his career after playing for St. Louis City last season. Nelson has racked up 83 games and 5,200 minutes in his career. Nelson has represented FC Dallas, FC Cincinnati, St. Louis City SC, and North Texas SC across his career.

After trading away Raheem Edwards earlier this off-season, the Galaxy needed to add some left-back depth. Nelson is the perfect cheaper MLS depth piece to add behind their presumed starter Julian Aude. This move is nothing that is going blow people away, but these moves are necessary to build a competitive side.
