Kylian Mbappe is working to convince Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid target Marcus Thuram to join PSG this summer.
This according to French news outlet L’Equipe, via FCInterNews, who report that Mbappe wants the 25-year-old to come to the French capital on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach, although Inter, Atletico, and also an unnamed Bundesliga club are keen on his signature.
Thuram is set to leave Gladbach on a free transfer during this summer transfer window.
The Frenchman’s contract with Gladbach runs out at the end of the current month. Gladbach’s Sporting Director Roland Virkus has made admitted that the player has no intention of signing a new deal.
There is no shortage of suitors for Thuram’s signature now that he is leaving the Bundesliga club.
Inter are reportedly keen on his signature, as are city rivals AC Milan.
Meanwhile, Inter had reportedly been very close to signing the Frenchman in 2021. However, a knee injury to the player prompted them to move on to other targets, signing Joaquin Correa from Lazio instead.
According to L’Equipe, Inter are still very interested in Thuram’s signature. As are Atletico Madrid, and an unnamed club from the Bundesliga.
The newspaper report, however, that Paris Saint-Germain are really starting to move to try and sign the 25-year-old.
The Parisians reportedly see Thuram as having exactly the right profile to complete their attacking options for next season. PSG are looking to sign someone who can play the centre-forward role.
Meanwhile, the fact that Thuram is French could help in PSG’s cause as they try and bring the former Guingamp man to the capital.
L’Equipe report that PSG superstar Mbappe is particularly keen to have Thuram as a teammate.
The 24-year-old is reportedly working to try and convince the Gladbach star to make the move now that his destiny is in his own hands.
