Kylian Mbappé (25) has already confirmed his Paris Saint-Germain departure but not his future destination. In February, Mbappé informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would not be renewing his current contract, which expires at the end of the season.
Mbappé’s seven-year stay at the Parc des Princes was therefore coming to an end but before his departure, there was time for two more trophies. After securing a third successive Ligue 1 title at a canter, PSG won the Coupe de France on Saturday, beating Olympique Lyonnais (2-1) in Lille and completing a domestic treble.
With the season over and Mbappé having completed his final game in the Rouge et Bleu of PSG, the France captain’s future became a topic of conversation once more. Whilst he didn’t reveal his future destination, which is expected to be Real Madrid, he did reveal that an announcement is incoming.
“There is a time for everything,” began Mbappé in a mixed zone interview post-match, not wanting to spoil the trophy celebrations and final moments as a PSG player by making such an announcement. “I’ll announce my next club in good time. We’re only a few days away so there’s no problem. Before the Euros? I don’t know, there are still a few steps,” he added.
