Real Madrid is attempting to get ahead of the chaos in January with the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga. The Spanish side cannot control the media by asking questions about it or creating speculation. Nonetheless, they can control what goes inside the club.
Players and coaches will be asked at a tiring rate about the Frenchman, whether at press conferences or in interviews with a media outlet. OK Diario (h/t Le10Sport) reports that Real Madrid leaders have asked their members not to speak publicly about Mbappé to avoid self-inflected drama.
Can Los Blancos’ silence bode well for their pursuit of the 25-year-old? Well, it might. Francisco Buyo reported on El Chiringuito that Mbappé will not extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
He adds that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is closer to signing with Real Madrid than six months ago. Meanwhile, PSG is reportedly trying to ensure they keep the winger past next summer, when his contract expires.
