RMC Sport are reporting that Kylian Mbappé (24) will receive a €90m bonus should he remain at Paris Saint-Germain this summer –  as is expected. Whilst there are doubts about the France captain’s long-term future at Les Parisiens, a move this summer looks highly unlikely as things stand, and the loyalty bonus will therefore likely be triggered in September.

Last May, Mbappé signed a contract extension at PSG, amidst intense interest from Real Madrid. However, that contract may end earlier than previously thought. The third year of the three-year deal is optional, and can only be triggered by the player himself. That clause must be triggered by the end of July, according to L’Équipe.

According to L’Équipe’s recent reporting, it is currently unlikely that Mbappé will trigger the option for a further year, which would see him remain at PSG until 2025. Whilst a move in the summer of 2024 is in the offing for Mbappé, he is set to pick up a substantial bonus and have (at least) one more attempt at winning the Champions League with PSG.
