PSG took part in a double unveiling on Thursday, showing off their new away kit and a new number for Kylian Mbappé.

Mbappé will switch from the number 29 shirt to number 7, sporting the hashtag #K7LIAN that is likely to transform into a personal brand.

“For a long time, I said that numbers were unimportant and that it was something that only matters on the pitch,” MbappĂ© told the club’s official website.

“However, it is an indication of your ambitions – the player you want to become. I keep trying to progress on the pitch and I think that, for me, it was the right time to change number.

“It is something of an affirmation. The No. 7 shirt is a legendary one and many greats have worn it. I hope that I will be able to do this number justice on the pitch.”
