Kylian Mbappé reportedly opts to stay at PSG | OneFootball

In one of the most surprising transfer twists, Kylian Mbappé has opted to snub Real Madrid in favour of staying at Paris Saint-Germain.

The France international has long been linked with a move to the Spanish capital and it was widely anticipated that he would join Los Blancos this summer upon the expiration of his current contract.

However, according to a report in L’Equipe on Saturday afternoon, which has been backed up by media in Spain and Italy, Mbappé has made the decision to stay at PSG.

The story states that although a contract has not been signed, the 23-year-old has reached an agreement in principle with the club’s hierarchy to extend his contract.

Discussions continued throughout the week before that decision was made on Saturday, with Mbappé set to ink a deal until the summer of 2025.

He informed PSG staff of his choice at a meeting ahead of tonight’s game against Metz, while several other sources also state that his camp has also made Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez aware of his decision.

Although he has yet to put pen to paper, it is claimed that a u-turn is now extremely likely and he will continue his adventure at the Parc des Princes.
