Whilst it is expected that Kylian Mbappé (25) will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, the France captain is yet to confirm his exit. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he didn’t provide any clarity over his future.

As has been widely reported, Mbappé informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his upcoming departure in February. The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season, and as he informed the club last summer in a letter that saw him temporarily ostracised from the first-team set-up, he has no desire to extend.

A departure is, therefore, an inevitability, and the expectation is that he will join Real Madrid, with the President of La Liga Javier Tebas stating that there is a 99% chance of Mbappé joining Los Blancos.

However, Mbappé is not yet in a position to confirm the reports. “I have nothing to announce. I’ve said that the day that I do, I’d tell you, but I still have nothing to announce […] I have never hidden, never been scared. It’s just that I have nothing to announce. Sorry to disappoint you. I am under contract at PSG until 30th June. We’re in the final sprint. We can have a special year. The most important thing for us is to stay focused. I’m putting all my energy and strength into that because it will take that to get what we want.”
