Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has reaffirmed his desire to remain at Parc des Princes beyond this summer, ending speculation about his long-term future.

The France international has been linked with a mega-money move to Real Madrid, who hold a long-standing interest in his signature.

The Spanish heavyweights revived their interest in the 24-year-old after failing in their attempts to lure him away from the French capital last year.

Mbappe turned down the chance to join Madrid last summer and opted to sign a new two-year deal with the option of an extra season with PSG.

His contract is expected to run out in 2024, with the prospect of the extra campaign firmly in the hands of the Frenchman, who has reportedly decided against triggering the extension.

The former AS Monaco prodigy will enter the final 12 months of his current deal at the end of the season, which could force Les Parisien into sanctioning a sale.

However, the French champions are desperate to hang on to their prized asset, and Mbappe’s recent remarks has handed them more time to try and convince him to extend his stay again.

Mbappe, who fired Christophe Galtier’s side to a record-breaking 11th Ligue 1 title with 28 goals from 33 games, has debunked rumours linking him with a summer PSG exit.

However, he did not entirely shut the door in Madrid’s face again, with the striker insisting he would see out his contract with the French giants.

“Yes it’s true,” Mbapped said (via AS) in response to transfer speculation after receiving his award for the best player in Ligue 1 at the UNFP awards gala.

“But I’m happy here in Paris – I’m happy with the decision I made last year, and next year I’ll be in Paris. I have a contract with the club, and I will continue here.”

While Mbappe’s words will delight the PSG faithful, it only buys the club one more season to try and tie him down to a longer contract or risk losing a player of his calibre on a free transfer.
