Real Madrid will be taking a huge step in the upcoming summer transfer window as they look to add what seems to be final piece of the puzzle in their squad rebuild by signing Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer.

The Frenchman is set to leave PSG at the end of the season, and has already clearly communicated to the club that he does not intend to renew his contract.

The same has been confirmed by Luis Enrique, who has been frequently leaving out the Frenchman out of this side this season, and subbing him out of games early, as well.

“We need to learn to play without Kylian,” he said in a press conference earlier this season.

While his destination of choice is pretty much clear, there are teams in the Premier League who would want to be in the race to sign Mbappe, including Arsenal and Liverpool.

However, as per a report by Fabrizio Romano, Mbappe has no intention of even discussing his future with any other club apart from Real Madrid. He only wants to play the Santiago Bernabeu, and has long begun communications with Florentino Perez, as well.

He will not enter any negotiations with Premier League sides, who can presumably offer him a higher salary and a bigger signing bonus.

The World Cup winner’s focus right now is on finishing the season with PSG on a high before eventually joining Real Madrid in the summer.

Despite being in and out of PSG’s starting lineups in recent times, Mbappe’s form has not withered much. He has scored five goals in his last seven games, including three against Real Sociedad in their 4-1 win on aggregate in the Champions League.

That takes him up to 27 goals across Ligue 1 and the UCL this season, leading the numbers for both competitions. Madrid will be hoping he can go well and beyond this contributions next season in the pearly whites.
