According to Foot Mercato, Kylian Mbappé (25) initially agreed to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain before deciding to join Real Madrid at the end of his current contract at the end of Les Parisiens. The France captain didn’t just communicate this promise once but twice.

The former Monaco forward is expected to complete his long-awaited move to Los Blancos at the end of the season when his contract at the Parc des Princes expires. This is no new revelation. Mbappé decided to join the 14-time Champions League winners in the summer transfer window in December. However, it appears he went back on his initial decision.

A broken promise?

After PSG’s draw with Lorient in August, the 25-year-old met with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi to discuss his future at the Parc des Princes. According to Foot Mercato, in this meeting, he informed the head of QSI that he intended to extend his contract with his hometown club. Nevertheless, 3 months later he had changed his mind and now looks set to start the next chapter of his career in Spain.
