You wouldn’t blame Kylian Mbappé for getting carried away, but this gesture after demolishing Argentina show that his feet are still firmly on the ground.

Mbappé became the world’s most expensive teenager last summer when he joined PSG for €166m and has continued to shine for club and country since.

According to L’Équipe, the 19-year-old will be donating the entirety of his World Cup earnings to the Preiers de Cordees association, a charity that aims to organise sports activities for children with disabilities.

It’s understood that Mbappé earns around €25,000 per game with added bonuses and any donation will include the reported €300,000 he could earn should France win the tournament.

The act of generosity has caused some of his national team colleagues to follow suit, with Samuel Umtiti emphasising that representing your country should be ‘nothing to do with money’.
