Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he's given more freedom when he plays for France than he's afforded at PSG.

Mbappe opened the scoring for his country in their 2-0 win over Austria and created a number of chances for others, playing a free-roaming role with Olivier Giroud the focal point of Les Blues' attacking line.

At PSG, he does Giroud's role himself, with Lionel Messi and Neymar being given the freedom to roam behind him, and he indeed feels that he's allowed more freedom in his national team.

"I play differently," he said after the match as per L'Equipe.

"I am asked other things here in relation to my club. I have a lot more freedom here. The coach knows that there is a number 9 like Olivier who occupies the defences and I can walk around and go into space.

"In Paris, it's different, there isn't that. I am asked to be the pivot, it is different."

With a grin on his face, he refrained from saying he enjoyed his role for the national team more though.

"I take pleasure everywhere," he added.

Didier Deschamps is likely to rotate his side for the match against Denmark on Sunday, but Mbappe is hoping he plays again.
