According to Le Parisien, the reason for Kylian Mbappé’s (25) absence from the PSG squad to play Metz in the final round of Ligue 1 action is due to their upcoming Coupe de France final against Lyon. Les Parisiens will face off against OL in the final match of the French football calendar for the remaining piece of silverware available.

The France captain was left out of PSG’s squad for their match against Nice as he was nursing a minor hamstring injury. With only a minor injury, the former Monaco forward was expected to be available for Paris Saint-Germain’s final Ligue 1 match of the season against Metz. However, the 25-year-old has been denied the chance to bid farewell to the French top flight as he was not included in the squad with the final less than a week away.

Mbappé will now have to settle for a goodbye to French football in the Coupe de France final. Nevertheless, the France international attacker will likely have more important things on his mind as PSG look to finish their season off on a high and secure another domestic treble.
