Negotiations for Giorgia international’s new deal at the Stadio Diego Maradona have been stalling since last summer, when the forward rejected the Partenopei’s offer, sparking concerns of a potential exit that urged Antonio Conte to step up and claim in his first press conference that he wouldn’t go anywhere.

However, talks between Kvaratskhelia’s agents and Napoli have since restarted and, according to Corriere dello Sport, they finally seem to agree on the terms of the new contract, which would include a significant pay rise, bonuses and a buy-out clause.

The newspaper also reports that former defender Cristian Zaccardo, who holds contacts with the 23-year-old’s agents and acted as an intermediary to pave the way for his move to the Partenopei in 2022, was at the Stadio Olimpico last Thursday to watch Antonio Conte’s side take on Lazio in the Coppa Italia, a further sign of ongoing discussion.

As per previous reports, the Georgian ace should extend his contract until 2029 and see his wage increase to about €5.5m per season plus another €1.5m in add-ons for each year.
