West Ham United locked horns with Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they hoped to grind out a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Hammers made a poor start to the game and found themselves two goals down inside the first 18 minutes due to a Phil Foden brace. Mohammed Kudus got a goal back for David Moyes’ side in the 42nd minute as West Ham went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.

West Ham conceded their third goal in the 59th minute when Rodri got his name on the scoresheet. The Hammers ended up suffering a lackluster 3-1 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each West Ham United player fared during the match against Man City.

GK: Alphonse Areola – 7.5/10

Areola made a lot of solid saves to keep the scoreline respectable for West Ham.

CB: Kostas Mavropanos – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending but it was not enough in the end.

CB: Kurt Zouma – 6/10

Zouma cleared the danger when he could but failed to stop the home team from scoring three times this afternoon.

CB: Aaron Cresswell – 5.5/10

He was far from convincing on the defensive end of the field.

RM: Vladimir Coufal – 6.5/10

Coufal performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.

CM: Tomas Soucek – 6.5/10

He came back to defend when needed and made one energetic run with the ball.

CM: James Ward-Prowse – 6/10

Ward-Prowse struggled to get a foothold in the game.

LM: Emerson Palmieri – 6.5/10

He caught the eye at times on the left flank but there was no goal for him.

RW: Mohammed Kudus – 7.5/10

Kudus made a few promising runs with the ball and did well to score in the latter stages of the first half.

ST: Michail Antonio – 6/10

He was quiet for most of his time on the pitch.

LW: Lucas Paqueta – 6/10

Paqueta lacked quality on the ball and produced a disappointing display in the opponent’s half.

CM: Edson Alvarez – 6/10
