It’s now looking more likely as this morning it was reported by Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano that talks are taking place between Arsenal and Celtic as the two clubs look to thrash out an agreement.

KT himself is keen to move back, and with him falling out of favour with Mikel Arteta, a deal shouldn’t be too difficult to negotiate. Arsenal have already reached a decision not to take up the extra year option on Tierney’s lucrative contract believed to be worth around £110k per week so the Scotland international is free to hold talks with other clubs concern a pre-contract deal.

However it would suit all parties if Tierney made the move in this transfer window and his arrival back at Celtic Park would provide a huge boost after the hugely disappointing performance and result at Ibrox yesterday afternoon.

If this deal gets over the line it would be a real shot in the arm for the club and supporters after yesterday’s let down. To bring back a player of KT’s ability and dedication will only strengthen our side going into the business end of the season.

It will also raise question marks over Greg Taylor’s future should his international team mate head back to Celtic Park as having Three players in the same position doesn’t fit Brendan’s quota on squad numbers.

Tierney’s return could signal the end for Greg Taylor’s time at Celtic as the former Kilmarnock left-back is reportedly looking for first team assurances ahead of any new contract being signed. Taylor’s reluctance to sign a new contract should be a clear and obvious indication to the club to look elsewhere and if KT returns and can stay fit then what a great signing that would be.

KT and Valle or Taylor and Valle are possibilities but the KT and Taylor option doesn’t seem to be an option.

That’s a dilemma for later however, as I’m sure we can all agree bringing KT back up the road will be a fantastic signing and a great start to the January transfer window.
