Krol expects De Ligt to stay with Juventus

Former Holland defender Ruud Krol expects Matthijs de Ligt to stay with Juventus.

De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola has discussed moving the defender away from Juve.

Krol told TuttoJuve: "I state that I do not know the terms of his contract well, but in my opinion no one will be able to pay such a high clause.

"I have always told Keje (Molenaar, the father of De Ligt's girlfriend) that he had to go to Italy to learn how to defend, so he should stay at Juventus.

"At least until 2024, so by that age he will be even more mature to think about his future. To me he seems happy with Turin and Italian football."

Krol added: "He is not the strongest, but he can aspire to become one. He still has ample room for growth, I am convinced that he will go even higher."
