Kortrijk will welcome Beerschot on Saturday afternoon knowing that a victory will mount pressure on a Sint Truiden side that are currently in disarray. After a 3-0 victory over the Canaries last time out, Kortrijk fans can suddenly start to believe in survival. When Bernd Storck took over it looked mission impossible, but the head coach has turned things around to give the side hope of avoiding the drop. The side could close the gap to just one point ahead of Sint Truiden’s clash with Cercle Brugge.

Adelkahar Kadri will be key to their chances against already relegated Beerschot. The midfielder grabbed a goal and an assist in the win over Sint Truiden, having done the same in the sides opening game of the play-offs against Cercle Brugge. The Algerian will be the key to unlocking the Beerschot defence which has proven more difficult to break down in recent weeks. Kortrijk won the home match up when the sides faced each other thanks to a rare Abdoulaye Sissako goal. The second game in Beerschot saw the sides draw 2-2. Kortrijk will face back to back games against Beerschot and, if results go there way, they could face Cercle Brugge on the third of May sitting second in the mini group. It will be a huge occasion for teenage goalkeeper Ebbe De Vlaeminck who is set to make his first start for the club.

Beerschot, despite having nothing to play for, have been competitive so far. They showed fight against Cercle Brugge and were only undone in the final minutes. However, that they were still in the game was largely down to some fantastic goalkeeping from Croatian Davor Matijas. The 25-year-old may well be busy this weekend once again.
