Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich midfielder Konrad Laimer will be out for up to six weeks with a calf injury suffered in Bayern’s 1-0 win against Union Berlin on Wednesday.

Laimer was substituted off in the 86th minute and it has been revealed that he has torn a muscle fibre in his calf whilst also damaging a tendon. This will keep him out for six weeks. The injury to Laimer now means Bayern have lost another right-back with Noussair Mazraoui at the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco.

Dayot Upamecano will be out for three weeks, reports Bild as he pulled up with a hamstring injury in the first half, before being substituted at half-time for Eric Dier

The status of Joshua Kimmich is unknown who both suffered hamstring and shoulder injuries in the win. With Laimer and Mazraoui missing, Kimmich may be forced to play at right-back if he is fit. Whilst new winter signing Dier can also fill in if necessary.

This injury to Laimer may make Bayern reconsider their move for a right-back in the winter after moves for Kieren Trippier and Nordi Mukiele have stalled in recent days.
