As reported by La Provence, Marseille have already side-lined a group of players and earmarked them for sale despite their recent return to preseason training.
American international Konrad de la Fuente, former Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi, and Spanish defender Pol Lirola have all been left out of the main group training and told to look for new clubs this summer under the club’s new coach, Marcelino.
OM director Javier Ribalta explained that those who were out on loan last season would need to “find a solution as soon as possible,” but midfielder Pape Gueye, who spent the end of last term at Sevilla, could still be included in the new coach’s plans.
Lirola, who has a deal in France running until 2026, is already attracting interest from Italy, including Juventus, Sassuolo, and Fiorentina. The latter sold the player to OM for €13m, including bonuses, in 2021. Amavi, meanwhile, cost OM €10m in 2018 but has struggled and has been sent on loan back to his boyhood club, Nice, and to Getafe in Spain.
