FC Bayern are on the verge of signing Vincent Kompany as their new coach. He is unlikely to bring his assistant coach Craig Bellamy with him from Burnley to Munich. Will Bayern’s U19 coach René Maric now be Kompany’s assistant at FCB?
After a long search, Vincent Kompany is set to become Thomas Tuchel’s successor at FC Bayern. There is apparently already a verbal agreement between Bayern and Kompany. His current club Burnley and the German record champions are currently negotiating the transfer fee.
As The Athletic reports from England, Kompany’s current assistant coach Craig Bellamy will not be moving to Munich if negotiations continue as expected. Bellamy is considered a candidate to succeed Kompany as head coach at Burnley.

FC Bayern are now apparently considering whether to promote current U19 coach René Maric to co-coach of the first team. This is reported by the Munich newspaper tz.
Interesting: Maric and Kompany know each other well. Both completed their training as football coaches on the same course. According to the tz, both have a high regard for each other.
According to the report, FCB is discussing whether the Austrian could continue to work at the campus at the same time. Maric is currently also the team leader for coaching development and game ideas.
According to tz, FCB want to extend Maric’s contract anyway. His contract expires in the summer and the Bayern bosses are said to be very satisfied with his work.
Maric, who is regarded as a great coaching talent, has attracted the interest of Leeds United and Sunderland, according to media reports. However, it looks as if Munich are not prepared to let the 31-year-old go. The position as assistant coach of the professionals could possibly convince him to stay.
