New Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany has begun his tenure with an enormous 14-1 win away over FC Rottach-Egern.
The first goal, netted by Adin Ličina, wasn’t until the 24th minute of the match, but then the floodgates opened as he added another just one minute later.
Mathys Tel added two more in the next two minutes, meaning that Bayern had scored in the 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th minutes.
Tel ended up with a first-half hat-trick as the Bundesliga side made it to 14 by the time the final whistle blew.
“I’m happy to be here with the fans,” Kompany admitted to reporters afterwards. “I know how important it is for Bayern to be here in Tegernsee out of tradition and culture. We did everything we wanted in the past three days to prepare well and see young players. That’s always good to see.
“The boys fought hard for every ball today and tried to be positive in the game. You can’t do more today. It’s not just about this game and the result, but mainly about getting a feeling again. We’re happy to have played this game today and now it’s about the next one.”
Bayern face FC Düren on Sunday at 14:30 CET.
