The Eagles battled to a 1-1 draw against Gladbach after Kolo Muani cancelled out Hofmann's opener.

Head coach Oliver Glasner made three changes to his side following the 3-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on Matchday 27. Daichi Kamada replaced the suspended Mario Götze in attacking midfield, while Christopher Lenz and Tuta came in for absent duo Evan Ndicka and Philipp Max. Gladbach strike on the counter It was an intense battle at Deutsche Bank Park in the early exchanges, although Eintracht initially struggled to create any openings in the final third. Instead it was Borussia Mönchengladbach who had the first opportunity when Florian Neuhaus fired over from a Marcus Thuram cut-back. Thuram was involved again on 13 minutes when the visitors took the lead, the Frenchman sprinting down the left on the counterattack before crossing for Jonas Hofmann to poke in from close range.

Glasner's charges improved as the half progressed, with Djibril Sow seeing a fierce shot well saved by Gladbach goalkeeper Jonas Omlin. Sebastian Rode then sent a half-volley over the bar, Randal Kolo Muani miscued a shot inside the six-yard box following good work from Aurélio Buta and Rode side-footed over again as the Eagles finished the first 45 minutes on top, yet behind on the scoreboard. Frankfurt power play Eintracht continued to be the dominant side after the break and forced the visitors on to the back foot, although Lenz did need to make a superb last-ditch tackle to deny Hofmann a second from close range. The introductions of Paxten Aaronson and Junior Dina Ebimbe added fresh impetus to the Eagles' attacks, with the latter heavily involved.

The 22-year-old had a shot from the edge of the box that was somehow saved by Omlin, and from the ensuing corner Kolo Muani sent his volley over the bar. The same duo were involved again moments later when Kolo Muani struck the inside of the post from around 10 yards out, with Dina Ebimbe frustrated on the rebound by another reflex stop from Omlin. Glasner's side eventually got the goal they deserved, however, with Kolo Muani drilling in a low shot from Faride Alidou's pass to give the Eagles a share of the points.
